Volunteers

DASH relies heavily on volunteers and we especially welcome volunteers with a disability and other minority groups. Volunteers receive initial training and ongoing support. If you would like to join us please have a look through our questionnaire and download a copy of the application form.

HAVS (Hillingdon Association of Voluntary Services) recently launched the Hillingdon Volunteer Awards 2011. DASH is very grateful to our team of loyal volunteers and this occasion gives us the opportunity to say thank you to the special people who have given their time to help us, in many different ways. The volunteers we have nominated this year are:

• Lloyd Bruno for volunteering each week; at multi-sports, cricket, and one off sporting events, also arranging the transport.
• Karen Carter for volunteering 5 days a week and supporting a wide range of our activities.
• David Carter for volunteering, three days a week driving an HCT bus. This enables clients who cannot access public transport to attend arts and crafts, keep fit and yoga.
• James Parsons for volunteering at the allotment, teaching a weekly gardening class last summer, checking on the allotment each week during the winter and helping at one off events.
• Geraint Haywood for volunteering at the drop-in and once a fortnight visiting a client to support her with her correspondence, paying bills, form filling, filing and making telephone calls on her behalf.
• Asif Mughal for volunteering at the drop-in with form filling and interpreting, promoting DASH at fairs and supporting people at the Disability Assembly.
• Mary Almeida for volunteering at the DASH yoga class to assist the teacher and enabling all members to participate.
• Dee Muder for volunteering at Arts and Crafts teaching jewellery making and supporting clients to run the market stall.
